Ethel Nell Carroll Howard, 74, of Carrollton, AL passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at Hospice of West Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL.

Services will be held at a later date. Lowndes Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Howard was born July 15, 1945, in Aliceville, AL to the late Claudine Gilliam and L.D. Carroll. She was a member of West End Baptist Church. Mrs. Howard was a seamstress in the garment plant for many years. In 1996 Mrs. Howard opened up Town Square Diner in Carrollton, AL which her daughter presently operates. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howard is preceded in death by son-in-laws- Michael Hall Sr. and Ron Hagood.

Mrs. Howard is survived by her husband- Sammie G. Howard Sr.; daughters- Gwen Hall and Patti Hagood; son Sammie (Kim) G. Howard, Jr.; grandchildren- Michael (Tracy)  Hall Jr. Sammie (Teresa) Howard, III, Michelle Howard, Dalton Hagood, Brooke Hagood, and Conner Howard; 8 great grandchildren; sisters- Ginger (Pete) Puckett and Alice (Lonnie) Jones; brother- Robert (Kathy) Carroll; and a host of nieces and nephews.
