Nellie Grace Gibson Hydrick, 84, went home to Heaven on January 17, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be Monday, January 19, 2015 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Hydrick was born in Columbus, MS on October 1, 1930 to the late Laney M. Gibson and Josie Coward Gibson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Bill Hydrick, and was mother to 3 children. Her life was centered on her Lord and His church, and her family and friends. Mrs. Hydrick was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church and enjoyed teaching Sunday school, was a member of the choir and served in GA's, youth and other ministries in the church. She found fulfillment and purpose as a homemaker, Girl Scout leader, raising her family, gardening and maintaining her home. She is survived by her 3 children; Debra (Ken) Hydrick Martin, Janice (Allen) Hydrick Nelms, and Ray Hydrick, one sister, Jeanie Hutchinson of Townsend, TN; and one brother, Thomas (Brenda) Gibson of Fayetteville, NC; 5 grandchildren, Becky Dennis, Laura Knight, Kyle Christian, Joshua Martin, and Cody Christian; 5 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ken Martin, Allen Nelms, Jay Knight, Kyle Christian, Matthew Warren, Cody Christian. Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh Martin, John Hydrick, Cody Christian, Bobby Ward, Al McAlexander, Jim Faust, David Nelson, Glenn King, Milford McAdams, Scott Hutchinson, Dennis Holliman, Fred Shepherd, LeeRoy Lollar, Jim Dennis and the Esther Sunday School Class at Fairview Baptist Church.
