Larry Nicholas Taylor, 28 of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at OCH Regional Hospital, Starkville, MS from complications of pneumonia. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A celebration of life service will be Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. Breck Ladd and Bro. Tommy Gillon officiating. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Nick would like it if everyone would dress casual. Interment will be in Community Baptist Cemetery but Nick would say it is "pneumonia weather" so there will be no graveside services. Nick was born March 16, 1985 to Larry and Debbie Taylor in Tupelo, MS and enjoyed life. He enjoyed calling people to brighten their day and make sure they were ok, he always prayed for others and was a people person. Nick was an honorary member of the New Hope Service Club, Tupelo Luncheon Civitans Fish Frying Team. He was a member of Southern Cruisers Car Club, Golden Triangle Outdoors, Passionate Pursuits Ministry and Bob Crigler's Sunday School Class. Nick was a greeter at Fairview Baptist Church, participant of Challenger Ball League and 2003 - 2005 New Hope Basketball Team Manager. He enjoyed the Annual Catfish Round Up at Lake Lowndes and was a professional camper, avid deer hunter and enjoyed watching all sports, playing Wii, going to car shows and delivering gifts to the nursing homes during Christmas. Nick was a true blessing to all that met him. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother - Betty Taylor. Nick is survived by his parents - Larry and Debbie Taylor, Columbus, MS; brother - Chris (Amanda) Taylor, Columbus, MS; maternal grandparents - Clifton and Beth Hodges, Verona, MS, paternal grandfather - Wayne Taylor, Columbus, MS; niece - Madison Taylor; nephew - Clay Taylor; caregiver -Barbara Beard-Doughty; beloved dog - Dexter Taylor; and special friends - Dr. Cameron Huxford and Dr. Mary Paige Huxford, Aunt and Uncle - Andy and Cindy Cochran; cousin - Trent Cochran; and special grandmother - Nanny. Pallbearers will be Lee Boyd, Russ Boyd, Andy Gunter, Robert Byrd, Garrett Harris and Emanuel Pintican.
