Nina Jean Davis, 76 of Columbus, MS passed away, Friday, November 01, 2013 at her residence. Visitation for Mrs. Davis will be Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM at New Covenant Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 with Bro. Ed Nix officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Davis was born September 26, 1937 in Monroe County, MS to the late Larry C & Ally May Stanford Brasfield. She was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church, Columbus, MS, loved to work in her flower beds and enjoyed cooking. Mrs. Davis retired from Belk Department Store as a salesperson in the jewelry department. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband - Clifford E. Davis in 2006. Mrs. Davis is survived by her sons - William E. (Bo) Davis, Columbus, MS and Dalwyn E. (Jackie) Davis, Jackson, MS, brothers - James (Betty) Brasfield, Smyrna, TN, Billy (Judy) Brasfield, Columbus, MS, Norris (Shelby) Brasfield, Vernon, AL and Jimmy (Juanita) Brasfield, Columbus, MS, grandchildren - Brittany Sansing, Brynn Upton, Austin Davis, Katie Thompson and Jessica Holifield, great-grandchildren - Carsyn Upton, Presley Upton, Swayze Sansing, Travis Thompson, Joseph Thompson, Will Thompson and Hayden Holifield. Pallbearers will be Josh Sansing, Carey Upton, Austin Davis, Brody White, Tim White and Eddie Pennington. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bert & Bobbie Chain, George & Inez Bell, Men and Women of New Covenant Baptist Church, Gene & Joan Killingsworth, Myrna Carpenter, Dewayne & Carol Upton.
