Nina Ladelle Fondren, 83, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Windsor Place, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, November 19, 2015, from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating and Bro. Jason Green assisting. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Starkville, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Fondren was born February 16, 1932, to the late Homer and Nina Abel Wade in Lexington, MS and moved to Starkville 54 years ago from Jackson, MS. Mrs. Fondren was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church, Starkville, MS. She was a self-employed seamstress for over 20 years. She loved sewing and also sold Beauti Control and Luzier Cosmetics. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fondren was preceded in death by her son - Mark Douglas Fondren. Mrs. Fondren is survived by her husband of 65 years- Thomas Harley Fondren, Columbus, MS; daughters - Marsha (Slater) Murphy, Ridgeland, MS and Lisa (Gene) Shook, Starkville, MS; son - Tommy (Diane) Fondren, LaGrange, GA; sisters - Bettye Nelms, Columbus, MS, Sandra Collette, Linda Healy and Dianne LaBella, all of Brandon, MS; grandchildren - Stephanie Garner, Rebecca Humphries, Brian Murphy, Laura Stricklin, Lauren Shook, Ashley Shook and Brandon Shook; and 8 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brandon Shook, Brian Murphy, Guy Stricklin, Mike Smith, Jimmy Collette and Alan Nelms. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Staff of Windsor and Staff of Hospice Advantage.
