Paris Earl Tilghman, Jr., 73, of Atlanta, GA, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Pruitt Health-Brookhaven in Atlanta, GA.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS. A Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating and Dr. Marvin Murphy assisting. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus, MS directing.
Mr. Tilghman was born February 3, 1943 in Hattiesburg, MS to the late Mattie Lou Johnson and Paris Earl Tilghman, Sr. He married the former Mary Ann Young on October 2, 1964 in Columbus, MS. Mr. Tilghman graduated from Mississippi State with a Bachelors of Arts in 1965. He was the Owner and Manager of Young Radiator and Welding Supply in Columbus, MS for many years. Mr. Tilghman was a Baptist Deacon and a member of the American Welding Supply, Odd Fellows, Fairview Baptist Church in Columbus, MS. He had lived the previous 2 years in Atlanta, GA having moved from Columbus, MS.
Mr. Tilghman is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ann Young Tilghman; daughters- Melissa (Rick Ambrose) Strohminger and Beth (Pat) Williams; grandchildren- Caty (Mark Siembeda) Strohminger, Elizabeth Strohminger, Sarah (Lee) Vaccaro, Coen Williams, Paris Williams, George Williams, Kathleen Williams; great-grandchildren- Maci, Liam, Dane; sister- Linda (Terry Wells) Tilghman; brothers- Don (Mary) Tilghman and Jim (Cindy) Tilghman.
Pallbearers will be Don Tilghman, Jim Tilghman, Coen Williams, GeorgeWilliams, Pat Williams and Rick Ambrose. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lee Vaccaro, Mark Siembeda, Joe Minick, David Beach, Donnie Tilghman, John Sheffield, Terry Wells, Sean Kruelskie, John Cesal, Mack Fuqua, Shane Glasgow, James Coleman, Charles Everett, Bill Arinder, and Billy Bozeman's Sunday School Class.
