Patricia Cravens Green, 81, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 5 – 7pm at Weatherford Mortuary of Oak Ridge, TN. The funeral will follow at 7pm with Pastor Danny M. Hill officiating and a service by the Daughters of the Nile will follow.
A graveside service will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:30 am at Piney Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Steens, MS with Rev. James Black officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus, MS directing.
She was born July 27, 1935 in Williamsburg, KY, the daughter of Harold Everett Cravens and Nancy Bentley Cravens and was raised in Pineville, KY.
She graduated from Pineville High School and attended Mississippi State College.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, where she was past Queen of the Abdiel Temple. She was also a member of the Royal Reds, Red Hat Society and past member of the Pyramid Society of Egyptian Arabian Horse Breeders and past officer of the East Tennessee Riding Club. Mrs. Green served as a Girl Scout leader for the Tanasi Girl Scout Council and was an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. Mrs. Green enjoyed gardening, traveling, bowling and cruises.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Harold Everett Cravens, Jr; half-brother, J. L. Cravens; sister, Barbara Cravens Taylor; and daughters, infant, Nancy Louella Green and Abby Gail Glover.
Mrs. Green is survived by her husband of 61 years, Lt Col USAF Ret, Robert T. Green; son, Robert T. Green Jr. and wife Lisa of Oak Ridge; daughter, Melinda G. York of Charleston, SC and grandchildren, Ashley'Rose Martin, Robert Austin Green, and Emily Lynn Green and nephews, Robert, Michael and Harold Taylor.
