Obituary

Patricia Ann “Patsy” Winklepleck, 72, of Ethelsville, Alabama, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at Trinity Healthcare in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Friday, May 8, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church in Columbus, MS. The service will follow at 3:00 P.M. with Dr. Slater Murphy and Bro. Robert Gillis officiating. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Gardens in Columbus, MS. Lowndes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Patsy was born March 7, 1954, in Marks, MS to the late Clyde Roberts and Martha Reaves. She spent 46 years caring for others as a nurse and retired in 2020 from Paccar in Columbus, MS. Taking care of people wasn’t just her job—it was who she was.

She was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church, where she poured herself into the life of the church over the years. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, helped with drama productions, and led water aerobics at the Y. Wherever she was, she found a way to encourage people and make them feel welcome.

Patsy loved cooking and was known for always having something good to share. She loved to travel and made it all over the world, but she was just as happy spending time with her family. She loved to laugh, loved to dance, and loved people well. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Lee Winklepleck of Ethelsville, Alabama; her children, Rob Winklepleck (Stacie) of Columbus, MS, and Chris Winklepleck (Allison) of Shreveport, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Hannah, Lucy, Brecken, and Brantley; and her sister, Cathy Yeoman (Scott) of Pontotoc.

Pallbearers will be Rob Winklepleck, Chris Winklepleck, Keith Burchfield, Andrew Yeoman, Tommy Vaughn, and Steve West. Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Reaves, Chris Reaves, Dr. Charlie Rhea, Scott Yeoman, Lyle Winklepleck, Dr. Jack Reed, Bain Nickles, and Candace Blanton.

The family would like to thank the staff at Trinity, the sitters from Southern Hearts, and a special thanks to Candace Blanton with Baptist Hospice for the care and kindness shown to Patsy and our family.
