Obituary

Peggy Linn Studdard Atkins Corbell Flippo, age 83, of Caledonia, Mississippi went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.  She ended her earthly journey in the gracious care of the staff of Windsor Nursing Home in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 30, 2021, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Chapel. Interment will be in Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Peggy was born March 30, 1938, in Totz, Kentucky to the late Lynn and Elizabeth Studdard. She moved with family to Dearborn Heights, Michigan where she married L.H. Atkins.  After starting her new family there and welcoming her first son- Lonnie Grayling, they moved to the Flint Hill community of Caledonia, MS. In Caledonia, she would welcome her second son- David Lynn and continued to establish herself as a pillar of the community.  Peggy was a member of Flint Hill Assembly of God  Church, Mount Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church, and a visitor to many of the area church functions. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flippo is preceded in death by her brother- David, and sister- Brenda Hatley, husbands- Lonnie Huett Atkins Jr., Curtis Eugene Corbell, and Greene Flippo Jr. (JR)

Peggy is survived by her sons- Lonnie (Nancy) Grayling Atkins of Eastover, SC, David (Rhonda) Lynn Atkins of Byhalia, MS; brothers- Jerry (Karen) Studdard and Rodger (Ann) Studdard of Caledonia; sister- Robin (Greg) Wheat of Steens, MS; granddaughter- Tiffany (Tod) Seaton and great-grandson- Raelyn Seaton of Blythewood, SC;  step-children- Gene (Rebecca) Corbell of Vernon, AL, Jane Corbell Wyers of Columbus, MS, Johnny (Barbara) Flippo of Del Rio, TX, Carolyn (Randy) D Flippo Adams, World Missionaries, Kenny (Lisa) Flippo Hamilton, MS, Paul (Sherry) Flippo of Rincon, GA, Glenn (Carolyn) Flippo of Savannah, GA, Donnie (Veronica) Flippo of Icountze, TX and Phyllis (Tim) Flippo Guthrie of Hamilton MS;  numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers Peggy requested that donations be made to the following charities; Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, American Cancer Society, American Heart Foundations, Gideons, Palmer Home, or Shriners. Family requests donations to the foundations for Parkinson's Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association.
