Peggy Walters Fondren, 76, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Trinity Place Personal Care, Columbus, MS,

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating. Mrs. Fondren will lie in state one hour prior to the Funeral Service. Interment will be in Rowan Cemetery, Steens, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Fondren was born May 13, 1939, to the late Roy Littleton Jones and Robbie Lee Gallop Jones Brown in Columbus, MS. She was the owner of Noweta Florist, Columbus, MS for 30 years. Mrs. Fondren was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband-Thomas Edwin Walters, Jr. and husband-Buck Yates Fondren.

Mrs. Fondren was survived by her daughter-Cheryl (John) Connelly, Fredonia, NY; brother-Jimmy (Linda) Jones, Caledonia, MS; nephew-Brian (Gretchen) Jones, Southaven, MS; and niece-Jenny Jones, Columbus, MS.

Pallbearers will be Ray Adair, John Connelly, Tom Cooper, Darrell Shepherd, Kavin Staples, and Tommy Gillon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Caretakers at Trinity Place Personal Care.
