Peggy Hayes, 80, of Aliceville, Alabama, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in Columbus, Mississippi.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 3:00 P.M. at the Pentecostal Church of God, 911 9th Place NE, in Aliceville, Alabama. There will be a short ceremony followed by a remembrance gathering with loved ones.

Peggy was born February 27, 1945, in Gordo, Alabama, to the late Lucy Mae Sims Bush Hogue and Edward Bush. She was a woman who never backed down from a challenge, known for her hard-headed nature and determination. She had a deep love for her family and cherished the time spent with them. Peggy enjoyed watching "Dateline" crime shows and could often be found relaxing with her beloved cat, Rainey, by her side. She lived a life marked by resilience and dedication to her grandbabies. Peggy was a devoted grandmother to Carleigh and Tiffany and a proud great-grandmother to Destyn and Lucy. Her sisters, Pam and Patsy, were also an important part of her life.  In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Rose.

Peggy is survived by her grandchildren- Carleigh and Tiffany; great-grandchildren- Destyn and Lucy; sisters- Pam Parham and Patsy Montgomery; and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy will always be remembered for her strong spirit, her love of family, and the joy she found in the little things. She leaves behind countless memories that will be cherished forever.
