Peggy Bates Moore, 81, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, TN.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2016, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM  at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, October 31, 2016,  at 11:00 AM with Bro. Ralph Windle officiating at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. Moore was born September 20, 1935, to the late Arthur and Cora Bell Hillhouse Bates. She was a cashier and attended Calvary Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 grandchildren.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband-John G. Moore, Sr., Columbus, MS; son-John Moore, Jr., Monroe, LA; and daughter-Pamela Harwood, Tuscan, AZ.

Pallbearers will be Dalton Knight, Maquire Knight, Rufus Mason, Ted Dahlem, and John Newell.
