Peggy Joyce Perkins, 75, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Aurora Health and Rehabilitation. Her family will hold a private memorial service. She was born in McNairy County, TN and was the only child of the late Eber Greer Capooth and Betty Bivens Capooth of Corinth, MS. Mrs. Perkins was a life-long Methodist. She worked until retiring a few short years ago as manager of a clothing store. Mrs. Perkins also enjoyed gardening at home as she had a natural green thumb and loved nature. All who knew her will remember her as being quick-witted and quick-tempered with a wonderful sense of humor. Mrs. Perkins is survived by her ex-husband, Bill Perkins, Columbus, MS; daughters- Frankie (Bill) Wilkins and Amanda (Rick) Gentry, both of Columbus, MS; sons- Rusty Perkins, Leeds, AL and Jim Perkins Ridgeland, MS. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Chris (Carly) Wilkins, Carson Wilkins, Russ Perkins, Ryan Perkins, Rush Perkins, Piper, Perkins, Daniel (Ashley) Gentry, Dennis (Christina) Gentry; and 5 great-grandchildren. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Berry, the staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital and Aurora Health and Rehabilitation for taking excellent care of her during her illness.
