Penny Joanne Burchfield, 47 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, October 7, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Monday, October 10, 2016, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Dr. Alan Burchfield, Bro. Sammy Crawford, Bro. Tommy Gillon and Bro. Breck Ladd officiating.  Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Penny was born December 17, 1968, to William Thomas and Joan Keeling Burchfield in Charleston, SC.  She had been employed with K-Mart as a stock clerk and The Shoe Department for 10 years and 6 years respectively.  Penny was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was active in Special Olympics, Golden Triangle Outdoors, and The Gutter Busters with Special Needs and Special Spirits.

Penny is survived by her parents – Bill and Joan Burchfield, Columbus, MS; brothers – Keith (Lisa) Burchfield, Tommy Burchfield and Rusty (Katie) Burchfield, all of Columbus, MS; 6 nieces and 3 nephews.

Pallbearers will be Keith Burchfield, Tommy Burchfield, Rusty Burchfield, Bill Crenshaw, Chris Crawley and Stan Rector.  Honorary pallbearers will be Edna Boone's Sunday School Class, Vickie Kimbrell and Courtney Stanback's Sunday School Class, Staff and Clients of ACT Center.
