Philip Lee Nabors, 79, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, August 14, 2017, at his residence.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 16, 2017, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Pickensville, AL with Bro. Tim Jones officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Nabors was born August 4, 1938, to the late Pervey and Elsie Philips Nabors. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Pickensville, AL. Mr. Nabors was a machine operator for General Tire and retired in 2000 after 32 years of service and he was a member of the National Guard for a few years. He was also a member of the Tenn Tom Camping Club, and he loved camping and traveling. Mr. Nabors loved his grandchildren very much. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nabors was preceded in death by his sisters- Marie Perrigin and Eva Johnson; brother- Cecil Nabors; and his grandson- Bradley Thompson.
Mr. Nabors is survived by his loving wife- Shelba "Jodie" Nabors of Columbus, MS; daughters- Rita (Charlie) Gregory of Columbus, MS and Kelli (Tony) Klostermann of Columbus, MS; son- John (Amanda) Nabors of Vancleave, MS; grandchildren- Lawson Nabors, Lara (Chad) Frasher, Riley (Eric) Potts, Trey Klostermann, Kendal Klostermann, Katie Nabors, and Mary Ashley Nabors; great grandchildren- Walker Potts and Anna Rai Potts; nieces- Paula Gregory of Columbus, MS, Linda Myers, Joyce Ann Price, Alice McClain, and Shirley Nabors; nephews- Frank Craig, Billy Craig, Scott Brown, Paul (Michelle) Brown, JR., Jimmy Wayne Johnson, Llyod Perrigin, Glenn Perrigin, and Glen Nabors; and a dog named Tuffy.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Gregory, Drake Gregory, Colin Craig, Jerry Pate, Jeff Elmore, Steve Knight, and Larry Fulton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Men of First Baptist Church, Pickensville, AL, Tenn Tom Camping Club, Dr. Chris LeBrun, and Dr. Doug Hill.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Honduras Mission Trip, 119 Old Mill Road, Pickensville, AL 35447.
