Mr. Ray Chandler, 82, of Caledonia, MS, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Memorial Service will be Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. with Mike Smith and Joe Moseley officiating.

Ray was born January 16, 1943, in Vernon, Alabama, to the late Clovis Hamilton Chandler and Hilda Hollis Chandler Hadaway. Ray worked as an over-the-road truck driver for several companies, as well as an independent owner and operator. He founded Chandler Refrigeration working alongside his sons.  married Norma Jean Vail on November 3, 1962, in Vernon, Alabama. Ray was known for his sense of humor, wit, and willingness to help others. It was often said that he never met a stranger and could make anyone feel like a lifelong friend.  In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his siblings- Hollis Chandler, Kawatha Koonce, and Rebecca Chandler.

Ray is survived by his spouse- Norma Jean Chandler; children- Mike (Linda) Chandler, Cathy (Greg) Gresham, and Cary (Nancy) Chandler; grandchildren- Scott Chandler, Tyler Chandler (Nicole), Amanda Gresham Clark (Corey), Matthew Gresham (Jocelyn), Patrick Gresham, and  Megan Chandler; and great grandchildren- Caleb Clark, Jace Clark, and Mason Clark.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Baptist Memorial Hospital, especially the Critical Care Unit and Hospice Care.
