Raymond McCool,81, of Caledonia, MS, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2026, at Windsor in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Authentic Church in Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Authentic Church in Columbus, MS with Bro. Steve Blaylock officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus; MS. Lowndes Funeral Home will be directing.

Raymond was born June 26, 1945, in Columbus, MS, to the late Elzie Lonzo McCool and Fannie Maude Smith McCool. He graduated from Mississippi State. Raymond was a Board Member of First Pentecostal Church/Authentic Church in Columbus, MS. He owned S & M Small Motors in Columbus; MS. Raymond worked for many years in Maintenance at Babcock and Wilcox. In addition to his parents, Raymond is preceded in death by his wife, Byrdie Boone McCool; brother, Bruce McCool, and sister, Faye McCool/

Raymond is survived by his wife, Juanita Eaves Vernon McCool; son, Sterling (Misty) McCool, and daughter, Cassie (Brandon) Roberts; stepchildren, Gerald (Angela) Vernon, Jean (Jimmy) Kimbrell, and Shelia McCormick; grandchildren, Jereson McCool, and Elijah McCool; and sister, Shirley Thomason.

Pallbearers will be Michael McCool, Jamie Wallace, Danny Boone, Scott Boone, Steven Boone, Matt Boone, and Brandon Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Tony Vernon, Konrad Vernon, Chris Taylor, DJ Krolly, John Tyler Helton, Joe Thomason, Royce Taylor, Buddy Godfrey, Conrad Taylor, Wayne Eaves, and Men of Authentic Church.
