Rhoda Madge Dotson Lawrence, 91, of Ethelsville, AL, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, MS.

Visitation will be Monday, October 19, 2020, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Pentecostal Church in Caledonia, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. Grant Mitchell, Bro. Jay Menona, Bro. Allen Shortridge, Rev. Ricky Bowen, and Bro. Larry Talent officiating. Interment will be in Vaughn Cemetery in Steens, MS with Rev. Michael Buras officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. Lawrence was born January 6, 1929, in Los Angeles, California to the late Harry and Nellie Holman Dotson. She married the late Thurman Roy Lawrence on May 30, 1952, in Bogalusa, LA. Mrs. Lawrence attended Aberdeen First Pentecostal Church in Aberdeen, MS. She enjoyed reading, singing, traveling, crocheting, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters- Rachel Hargrove, Louise Dotson, Elizabeth Dickenson, Pauline LaCount, and brother- John Dotson.

Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her sons- Timothy (Tina) Lawrence of Butler, MS, Titus (Genise) Lawrence of Pine, LA, Samuel (Janice) Lawrence of Caledonia, MS; daughters- Sharon Rose (Dewayne) Owen of Caledonia, MS, Rebekah Barham of Ethelsville, AL; brothers- James Dotson of Dallas, TX, Joe (Judy) Dotson of Branson, MO; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jonathon Lawrence, Virgil Lawrence, Tyler Maness, Rodney Lawrence, Ivan Owen, Andrew Buras. Honorary Pallbearers will be Casey Lawrence, Roy Lawrence, Curtis Owen, Samuel Lawrence, Jr., Michael Parker, Adam De La Garza, Michael Berus, Brian Smith, Alan Davis, Taylor Maness, Johnathan T. Maness, sons, grandsons, great-grandsons, and great-great-grandsons.
