Rhonda Junkin On Monday, June 24, 2013 Rhonda Wylene Cribbs Junkin was called home by her heavenly Father. There to greet her were her parents, Demps and Jeanette Egger Cribbs and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 4-5 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 5:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Finch officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. Rhonda was born November 21, 1948 in Columbus, MS. She lived in the Woodlawn Community on Hwy. 12 most of her life. Rhonda graduated from Caledonia High School in 1967, then graduated from Vaughn Beauty School. On April 1, 1968 she married Allen V. Junkin of Columbus, MS at the Columbus Church of God. They divorced in 1993. Their daughters are Amy and Amber. As a young military wife, Rhonda faithfully accompanied her husband, living in six states as he served his country as a Green Beret in the Special Forces. While living in Columbus in the seventies, Rhonda worked at Sears Roebuck & Company and Mitchell Engineering (now Ceco Building Systems). Allen's military career led the family to move to Newton, MS in March of 79. Rhonda enjoyed her children and participated actively in their activities, which included t-ball, softball, and the band program. While in Newton, Rhonda worked at B & W feed store and Esco. The family belonged to the Decatur Country Club, where Rhonda was an avid golfer. The family moved again in December 1985 to Grenada, MS. Rhonda's caring friendly personality created a loving home that was filled with her children's friends. She supported her children in the band program. Rhonda also enjoyed working as a Realtor in Grenada. Rhonda moved back to Columbus in the early 90's. She worked at Mantachie Rural Health care in Mantachie, MS, Ceco in Columbus, F.D. Wilson Trucking in Vernon, AL and she retired from Burkhalter Rigging in December 2012 after a number of years. In more recent years, Rhonda's joy were her grandchildren. She loved being a "Nana". She was visiting her daughter, Amy in Woodbridge, VA when she had a stroke on February 22, 2013. Her health quickly declined as she had four more strokes in the next eight weeks. She died at Hospice of Virginia at Retreat Hospital in Richmond, VA. She leaves behind her daughter, Amy (Herby) Bloodworth, grandson, Stephen David Bloodworthage 7, Woodbridge, VA, her daughter Amber Orsburn and granddaughters, Chloe age 11, Zoe Orsburn age 9, Olive Branch, MS and granddaughter, Ashlee (Matt) Whitten and great-grandson Logan age 1, Cleveland, MS, aunts, Agnes "Aggie" Egger Garner, Little Rock, AR and Rebie F. Egger, Caledonia, MS. Honorary pallbearers will be William "Bill" Kidd, Jeanette Smith, Elaine Dusenberry, Janet Butler, Jim Vaughn, Tommy Caughn, Henry Vaughn, Brenda Campbell and Employees of Burkhalter Rigging.
