Richard Fredrick "Rich" Alster, 81 of Columbus, MS passed away, Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Alster was born September 13, 1935 to Frederick and Hattie Hirschmann Alster in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Columbus, MS, 10 years ago from Florida.  He was retired from being self-employed, where he maintained shuffleboards and recreational equipment.  He was a big jokester and loved NFL football.

Mr. Alster is survived by his Wife – Judith Alster, Columbus, MS; Children– Patti Hynds, Kathy Caulk, Linda Ritter, Richard Alster, Jr., all of Florida; sisters – Barbara Soracco, North Carolina and Eleanor Arnopp, New York, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
