Richard William"Bill" Herrick, 86 of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at his residence.

A graveside service will be Friday, February 10, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Bro. Chad Kingberry officiating and  Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mr. Herrick was born August 4, 1930, to the late William Gustav and Beatrice O'Connell Herrick in New York, he moved to the Columbus, MS in 1960 and worked 50 plus years as a machinist.  Mr. Herrick loved to tinker and fix things.  Mr. Herrick was preceded in death by his wife - Mamie Lou Landrum Herrick; sons – John Richard Herrick and Richard Herrick, Jr.; Mother – Beatrice O'Connell Herrick and Father – William Gustav Herrick.

Mr. Herrick is survived by his daughterss – Mary Tuggle, Columbus, MS, Bea DeSmidt, Caledonia, MS and Elizabeth "Liz" (David) Paine, Columbus, MS; sons – Willy (Fran) Herrick, Columbus, MS, Mike Herrick, Columbus, MS and Matthew Herrick, Franklin, KY; 11 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; sister – Kathleen (John) H. Joyner and a host of nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Camilla Hospice, Columbus, MS and special thanks to Stephanie Altmyer.
