Obituary

Richard Lynn Hubbard, 60 of Steens and West Point, MS went to his heavenly home on Saturday, July 04, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Monday, July 6, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bryan Windle, Josh Proctor and Seth Laster officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, West Point, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Hubbard was born July 11, 1954 in Columbus, MS and lived in the Golden Triangle area his entire life. He was a graduate of New Hope High School and attended EMCC. Mr. Hubbard was a former member of Southern Cruisers and participated in the Catfish Rodeo at Lake Lowndes, Competition Grilling at Roast'n Boast and the St. Jude Benefit Race. His first love was CARS and he enjoyed working in the workshop repairing engines and helping friends whenever they stopped by. Mr. Hubbard was an avid fan of car racing, when his son Kyle was young they were very involved with go cart racing and of course he and Kyle always build their own car motors together. He was a machinist with Columbus Machine and Welding, Columbus, MS and retired after 23 years of service. Mr. Hubbard was preceded in death by his first wife - Ronda Moore Hubbard, father - Jim Bullard; grandparents - Homer and Martha Taylor and John and Brooksie Hubbard. Mr. Hubbard is survived by his beloved wife - Johnnie Adkins Hubbard, West Point, MS; parents - Andy and Sarah Bullard Tingle, West Point, MS; daughter - Leslie (Tod Davis) Hubbard, Kosciusko, MS; son - Kyle Hubbard, West Point, MS; step-sons - Rodney (Rebekah) Lawrence, Steens, MS, Roy (Shirley) Lawrence, Barker, TX, Ronnie Adkins, Steens, MS and John Adkins, Columbus, MS; step-daughter - Beth (James) Wilson, Steens, MS; sister - Robbie (Billy) Whitten, Pickensville, AL; brother - Tony Bullard, Columbus, MS; 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be George Green, Ricky Nickoles, Rod McFarland, B.J. Holman, Terry Atkins and Rex Stokes. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Young, D.J. Jewell, Benny Ingle, Ross Tingle, Bo Holman, Ron Stokes, Morris Knighton, Mike Cole and Starr McCool.
