Richard Henry Lines, 76 of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be Friday, March 28, 2014 at 6 PM at First Presbyterian Church USA, Columbus, MS with Rev. Thomas Bryson officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Lines was born May 6, 1937 in Unionville, NY to the late Charles W. and Ethel Wehrli Lines. He moved to Columbus, MS forty four years ago from Little Rock, AR. Mr. Lines worked at Walmart for the last twenty years as a clerk. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church USA, Columbus, MS where he served as the Minister of Music. Mr. Lines was a member of American Organist Guild, Keenagers of First United Methodist Church, Columbus, MS and past Minister of Music at Buntyn Presbyterian Church, Memphis, TN., Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, Little Rock, AR, First United Methodist Church, Columbus, MS, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Columbus, MS and First Presbyterian Church USA, Columbus, MS. He was Chorus Director at Caldwell High School, Joe Cook Jr. High School both of Columbus, MS. Mr. Lines enjoyed working in his yard, cooking, music and was an avid reader. Mr. Lines is survived by his wife of 48 yrs-Katherine Greer Lines, Columbus, MS; children-James Tilley, Dallas, TX, Katherine Lines (Mansel) Guerry, Tallahassee, FL, Carra Lines (Byron) Williams, Columbus, MS and Anna Lines (Scott) Jones, Columbus, MS; sister Nancy Rudy, Warwick, NY; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Past and Present Members of the Loft Choir of First Presbyterian Church USA, Columbus, MS, Dr. John Whitecar, Dr. Robert Jones, Dr. Brett Brown and Open Door Sunday School Class.
