Rita Sue Brown, 73 of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at her residence. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 26, 2014 from 2:30 - 4:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in the Chapel with Bro. Todd Bryant officiating. Interment will be at Forest Cemetery, Ethelsville, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Brown was born March 21, 1940 in Little Rock, AR to the late Joe and Agnes Sanders Lawson. She was a member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, Northport, AL. Mrs. Brown worked for Lowndes County Circuit Clerk for a number of years and retired as Deputy Clerk in 1992. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 47 years, Paul Brown, Sr., Columbus, MS; sons-Frank (Debbie) Craig, Caledonia, MS, Billy (Carla) Craig, Columbus, MS and Scott (Alma) Brown, Richmond, VA; daughter-Paula (Darrell) Gregory and son-Paul (Michelle) Brown, Jr. both of Columbus, MS; sister-Shelba Jo "Jodie" Nabors; grandchildren- Misty (Michael) Abney, Drake Gregory, Nikki Brown, Colin Craig, Chandler Craig, Taylor Brown, Jonathan Brown, Tanner Craig and great-grandchild- Emmalyn Abney. Pallbearers will be Charles Gregory, Tony Klostermann, Trey Klostermann, Chad Fraiser, Michael Abney, Drew Johnson and Tripp Holliday. Honorary pallbearer will be Fred Hall.
