Rita Ray Mordecai, 64, of Steens, MS passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital- GT in Columbus, MS.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Lowndes Funeral Home and Crematory entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Mordecai was born July 6, 1952 to the late Bryce Guin and Olene Heath Graham in Salt Lake City, UT. She was previously employed at Weyerhauser as a millwright. Mrs. Mordecai loved her children and spending time with them and had many friends. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mrs. Mordecai is survived by her  spouse- Sammy Sims; daughter- Michelle Edmondson, Steens, MS; sons- Donald Mordecai and Richard Mordecai of Steens, MS; grandchildren- Brandon Edmondson, Brittney Edmondson, Mason Ray Mordecai, Zachery Kenneth Mordecai, Brianna Mordecai; great grandchild- Emery Edmondson; sister- Afton Adams of Hattiesburg, MS.
