Robert "Lloyd" Hurt, 64 of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at his residence.

No services are scheduled at this time.  Lowndes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hurt was born on January 27, 1959, to the late George Hurt and Doris Pauline Mills Sowell.  He was a hardworking man.  Mr. Hurt started his career as a lighting technician and stagehand with local bands in Columbus in the 1970s.  He went on the road in the 1980s working with Menagerie, the Cartoons, and Radioberlin.  Mr. Hurt moved to Texas and owned his own lighting business. He toured for several years with Vince Vance and the Valliants.  He then teamed up with Billy Idol for 10 years.  Mr. Hurt moved to Nashville and spent 2 years with Kenny Chesney lastly he worked 6 years as crew chief with Eric Church before retiring in 2022. He was a collector of sports memorabilia and vintage toys and loved the MSU bulldogs.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hurt was preceded in death by his brother – Wendell Hurt.

Mr. Hurt is survived by his wife – Debra Pearson Hurt; sister – Ginger Hurt; step-brother – Johnny Boone; step-children – Candice Fann and Marcus Lavender and grandchildren – Cole, Logan, Kaleb, and Zoey.
