Robert Freddie Lain, 80, of Columbus, MS, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Lain was born May 8, 1945, in Lovell, Wyoming, to the late Buck Elbert Lain and Linnie Paulk Lain. He worked in the oilfield as a consulting oil consultant. Mr. Lain enjoyed Gunsite at  Sublette County Fairgrounds, horses, dogs, guns, and fountain pens. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lain is preceded in death by his son, Robert "Bobby" Freddie Lain II, brother, Ronnie Lain, and grandchild, Camryn Lain.

Mr. Lain is survived by his spouse- Amelia Lain; children- Christy Jo (CJ) Andrews, Josephine Lain, and Chris (Joe) Lain; siblings- Charlotte Lain, Donnie Lain, and Kay Lain; grandchildren- Austyn Dentry, Josiah Andrews, Sheridan Lain, Krystal Gallegos, Michael Lain, Mina Lain, Estrella Lain, Amy Lain, and Joe Lain; great grandchildren- Ember Dentry, Everest Dentry, Wonder Andrews, Wilder Andrews, and Winnie Jo Andrews.
