Obituary

Robert Jack Mishler passed away on October 8,2011 at the Collegeview Personal Care Home in Columbus, MS. Robert, known to everyone as "Bob", was 88 years old. A graveside service will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetary at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 10th, with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Mr. Mishler was born on November 10, 1922, in Southbend, Indiana to the late Ora F. and Flossie Olive Mishler. He lived in South Bend many years, and once worked for Studebaker in SouthBend. Eventually, he moved to Columbus in 1957 where he worked for United Technologies and later retired from Trinity Place. Bob was a World War II Veteran, having served his Country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. McGinty DE365. He was ordained deacon at Calvary Baptist Church. Later he was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Geroge Shalles' Sunday School class. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret ("Peg"); his son, Ronald Jack; his two brothers, William L. and James, and his half-sister, Sandra of Kalamazoo, MI. He is survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters, Kathy Rollins (Dick) and Karen Cole (Richard); his son David (Sandra),all from Columbus, MS; two stepdaughters, Patricia Geno (Alton) of Valparaiso, IN and Kathy Stampley (Dean) of Huntsville, AL; and one stepson, Michael Killough (Linda) of Salt Lake City, Utah. Bob is also survived by his grandchildren Brad Rollins and Todd Rollins (Larkin) of Springhill, TN; Ryan Cole (Lynn) of Petal MS; Kelly Crawford (Tanny) of Madison, MS; Tiffany Davis (Brian) of Columbus, MS; Haley Stampley of Huntsville, AL and Private Alex Stampley of Fort Eustis, VA. Bob also was blessed with nine great-grandchildren; Kendyl and Cade Rollins; Brooke and Braden Cole; Calyn Carpenter; and Laurie Claire, Cole, and Camille Crawford; and Brandon and Caitlyn Perrigan. Other than spending time with friends and family, his greatest pastime was gardening which he did well into his 80's. Bob also had a lifelong passion for music. Bob was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
