Robert Dee Rhea, 70 of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015, at his residence. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 13, 2015, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A graveside service will be Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at 1:00 PM in the Macedonia Cemetery, Houston, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Rhea was born February 13, 1945, to Louise Smith Rhea and the late Dee Rhea in Pascagoula, MS and moved to the Golden Triangle area 40 years ago. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for his service during the Vietnam War. Mr. Rhea retired in 2008 from Glen Machine Works, Columbus, MS where he was employed as a welder for 15 years. Mr. Rhea is survived by his wife of 47 years - Glenda Ashcraft Rhea, Columbus, MS; mother - Louise Smith Rhea, West Point, MS; daughter - Malinda (Paul) Butler, Columbus, MS; sisters - Donna (Gary) Danford, Buffalo, TX and Lynette (Greg) McLaughlin, Chattanooga, TN; brothers - Glen (Gail) Rhea, West Point, MS and Doug (Beverly) Rhea, West Point, MS; grandchild - Rob Griffin, Columbus, MS and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kevin Towery, Scott Killebrew, Jermey Killebrew, Billy Ashcraft, Shane Rhea and Jeffery Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Gann, RC Reich and employees of Glen Machine and Welding, Staff of V.A. Clinic of Columbus.
