Rodney Moore

Rodney Dale Moore, 67, of Columbus, MS, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at his residence.

Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2026, 10:00 AM–11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A graveside service will be at his home at 11:30 AM, with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Moore was born September 18, 1959, in Reform, AL, to George Durant Moore and Ora Pearl Jaynes Moore McDaniel. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Ethelsville, AL. Mr. Moore attended Liberty School in Liberty, AL, and Carrollton School in Carrollton, AL. He retired in 2010 from Omnova after 32 years working in the calendar department. Mr. Moore loved to go fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Leigh Moore, and brother, Terry Moore.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 47 years – Theresa Barksdale Moore; daughter – Amanda (Richard) Barton, son – John “Jay” (Jessica) Moore; sisters – Mary Ann (Gerald) McGahey, Reform, AL, Patsy Tilley of Ethelsville, AL, George (Cindy) Moore) of Columbus, MS, Dean Nevin of Columbus, MS, Steve (Martha) Moore of Ethelsville, AL and Doris Cunningham of Georgia; sister in law – Jeannie (John) Hendrix; grandchildren – Haley B (Robert) Reed, Dylan Barton, Brody Barton and Carter Moore; great-grandchildren – Kate Barton, Amelia Reed and Jace Reed.

Pallbearers will be Brody Barton, Dylan Barton, Robby Tilley, Carter Moore, Gary Moore, Robert Reed and Derek McGahey. Honorary pallbearers will be the Calendar Department at Omnova.
