Ronald W. Pannell, 76, of Columbus, MS, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Trinity Healthcare in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Monday, January 20, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Graveside will be Monday, January 20, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Brooksville Cemetery, Brooksville, MS with Bro. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Lowndes Funeral Home entrusted with all arrangements.

Mr. Pannell was born April 3, 1948 in Macon, MS to the late Charlie Leon Bradford Pannell and Betsy Clyte Bell Pannell.  He joined the Army and was also a Vietnam Veteran.  While in the Army, he worked with ammunition carriers and received a marksman medal.  He held many jobs as a forklift driver.  Mr. Pannell enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, being around family, and telling jokes and stories.  He always enjoyed a good vodka and scratch off tickets.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pannell is preceded in death by his son – Ronald Pannell, Jr; and siblings – Charles Hayes (Rebecca) Pannell, Billie Elois Pannell, and Bobbie Nell Pendergrass.  He is survived by his wife – Joyce Pannell; children – Sheila (Verta) Collum, Jeremy (Carrie) Pannell, and Brandon (Debra) Pannell; grandchildren – Amber Michelle Pannell, Elizabeth Pannell, Angelia Pannell, Chaz Jones, Tyler Collum, and Verta Collum; and great-grandchildren – Anikan Morgan, Ryder Morgan, DJ Tollison, Amayah Pannell, Fox Jones, and Arya Jones.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Pannell, Brandon Pannell, Joey Cotton, Chris Cotton, Lee Jamison, and Verta Collum.
