Ronald Edward "Ronnie" Hankins, 73, of Columbus, MS, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at his residence.

Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.

Ronnie was born October 14, 1950, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Chester Collins Hankins and Edna Grace Allen Wells. As a child, his family relocated to Detroit, Michigan, where he grew up and lived until 1975, when he returned to Columbus, MS.  Ronnie was a carpenter for many years. He loved carpentry work and woodworking. He could build anything. He just picked up painting in the last couple of years and enjoyed it very much. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, watching Alabama football, and spending time with his dogs. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his son- Johnny Hankins; brothers- Jimmy Hankins, Randy Hankins, and Sam Hankins.

Ronnie is survived by his son- Ronnie (Nikki) Hankins; daughter- Sarah Hankins; daughter-in-law- Emily Hankins; grandchildren- Aimee Hankins (Jonathan) Kellum, Andrew Hankins, Emilee Hankins, Dylan Hankins, Presley Hankins, Benjamin Akins; great grandchildren- Lynnleigh Kellum, Sydney Kellum, and Sam Barns; siblings- Jerry Hankins, Diane Hankins (Lynn) Westmoreland, and Allen Hankins.
