Roy Henry, 73 of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his residence. Visitation will be Friday, August 1, 2014 from 12-1 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM in the Chapel with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Henry was born January 28, 1941 in Pontotoc, MS to the late Royce and Ollie Galloway Henry. He lived in the Columbus area for the past twenty-five years and retired in 1990 after thirty-four years of being a truck driver and working for Johnson Truck Leasing. Mr. Henry was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed drag racing, motorcycles and cars. Mr. Henry is survived by his wife-Brenda Barksdale, Columbus, MS; children-Stevie Henry, Randy Henry, Mary Henry Ewing, Chrisy Henry, Janae Pittman and Troy Henry; step-children-Gina Walker, Brian Barksdale and Michele Lackey; sisters-Sally Lantrip, Elnora Wages, Louise Price, Betty Braddcock and Sheryl Hood; brothers-Larry Roberts, Johnny Roberts, Jimmy Roberts, Luther Roberts, Frankie Roberts and Dennis Roberts; 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Chad Price, Koby Dyer, Tony Price, Hunter Lackey, Bill Cole, Dalton Turner and Trinity Wyers. Honorary pallbearer is Don Ernst.
