Roy Forrest Jackson, 85, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2015 at his residence in Columbus, MS. Visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Westmoreland officiating. Interment will be at Egger's Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Jackson was born July 10, 1930 to the late Robert Jesse Jackson and Katheleen King in Natchez, MS. He has lived in Mississippi all his life. He was a veteran in the United States army where he served in the Korean War from 1952-1954 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. Mr. Jackson was a ripsaw operator for Airline Manufacturing Company for 52 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers-Earl Jackson, Donald Jackson, and Paul Jackson; and a sister-Nellie Strickland. He is survived by his wife of 59 years-Sarah Jackson; daughter- Peggy Jackson (Larry) Brownlee; and son-David Roy (Karen) Jackson. Grandchild-Lyndsey Brownlee Khaled; and great-grandchild-Jaxon Kyle Khaled; and 14 nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ricky Moore, Richie Jackson, Dennis Jackson, Mohammad Khaled, Douglas Allen, and Terry Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Baptist Hospice and Jim Richardson.
