Roy C. Kriley passed away on August 31, 2021 at the age of 82, in Calhoun City, MS. His battle with various health issues in recent years demonstrated his courage of facing life's challenges with a sense of humor that only his loving family or close friend could appreciate.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at North Mississippi Veterans Cemetery located at 2 Legion Rd., Kilmichael, MS at 1:00 PM with Skeeter Robinson Funeral Home, Grenada, MS in charge of arrangements.
Born in Stockton, KS on November 6, 1938 to Frank and Eva Kriley, a sharecropper and devoted housewife. It was from the point forward that "pops", as his son referred to him as, developed his strong work ethic.
At the age of 16 he joined the US Army where he severed his country for several years. After the army he began his career in the civil service residing in several cities across the US, including Panama, Central America. Life's journey placed him in Caledonia, MS where he served as a communication technician in the service shop at CAFB. After concluding his many years of civil service, he moved to San Carlos, AZ to assist his older brother in post-surgery recovery. He then spent several years as a communication technician for Maricopa County in Arizona. He relocated to Mississippi in 1992 living in Sturgis, MS until 2002 where he created his version of a homestead in Calhoun City, MS.
He was well known in the various communities in which he resided and know as a horse trader of sorts.
A man with a wealth of knowledge, he was always the go to guy when something needed to be repaired. He had a unique style that was difficult to understand but he lived his life the way he wanted and was happy.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Frank, his mother Eva,as well as other siblings. He is survived by his son Troy Kriley and his wife Leigh, grandchildren Krista, Jordan and Jackson and great grandchildren Landen, Austin, Easton and Addaleigh.
