Roy Lofton, age 85, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018, at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, July 28, 2018, in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Columbus, MS at 2:30 PM with Bro. Steve Brown officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Lofton was born on December 13, 1932, in Soso, MS to the late Andrew and Irene Walley Lofton. He worked as a mechanic in the United States Air Force for 34 years before retiring. Mr. Lofton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife- Annie Kate Lofton, brother- Troy Lofton, and sister- Charlene Newell.

Mr. Lofton is survived by his daughters- Janice (David) Wood of Columbus, MS and Deborah Ann (Michael) Olexa of North Pole, AK; sister- Hetty Marie Harris of Laurel, MS; brother- Joe Cleveland Lofton of Bay Springs, MS; grandchildren- Patrick (Amanda) Post, Kasie Wood, and Travis Olexa; great-grandchildren- Braden Post, Ava Post, and Charlotte Post.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Post, Mike Olexa, Travis Olexa, Chuck Batts, Ted Dahlem, and Phillip Pennington. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Avant, Walter Wyckoff, and David Wood.
