Roy Lynn Sims, 71 of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, at his residence.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Church on the Rock, Columbus, MS with Bro. Stuart Vail officiating.  The interment will be at Lone Oak Cemetery, Steens, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Sims was born October 26, 1951, in Clay County, MS to the late Levi and Amiree Reese Sims.  He loved fishing and watching NASCAR (Winston Cup).  He worked for several years as a designer in Metal Machining.  Mr. Sims was the best dad and best friend to his children.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his wife – Doris Arlene Taggart Sims; daughter-in-law – Valerie Sims; sisters – Kate Davidson and Virginia Vail; and brother – Bill Sims.

Mr. Sims is survived by his sons – Clint (Shelly) Sims and Alex (Christie) Sims; daughter – Heather (Stan) Lang; 5 grandchildren and brother – J.R. Sims.
