Ruth Hataway Schultz, 81 of the Pine Grove Community in Pickens County, AL, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Friday, July 21, 2017.

Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2017, from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Nathan Hodum officiating. A private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ethelsville, AL.

Ruth was the only child of John and Lois Farley Hataway.  Her family and her farm were her life.  Ruth's parents and grandson John Michael preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Linley; her two sons, Randy and Chris; her two daughters-in-law, Renee and Donna; her granddaughter Jessica and husband Ryan Bostick; and her three great-grand children, Calliana, Paxton, and Rylan.

Family requests that donations be made to John's Joy Ministry, 30 Hwy 366, Golden, MS  38847 in place of flowers.
