Ruth Ann Shaw, formerly of Columbus, MS, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, was born on May 31, 1937, and peacefully departed this life on June 18, 2024. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William D. Shaw, and her dear daughter, Melanie Denisse Shaw.

Ruth's legacy lives on through her surviving family; Daughter Janice Rice and her husband Robert, Son Farley Shaw and his wife Alice,
Son Charlie Shaw and his wife Jerri, Daughter Brenda Lewis and her husband Allen and
Daughter Michelle Brown.

Ruth was the proud grandmother of fourteen grandchildren: Melanie, Angela, Wayne, Stephanie, Donna, James, Laura, Raymond, Birdie, Zoe, Katy, Justin, David, and Bethanie. Her love extended to her numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Ruth was known for her boundless love, unwavering faith, and a heart that welcomed everyone. She was a shining example of unconditional love, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of comfort. Her faith in Jesus guided her actions and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Her family and friends will forever cherish the memory of her kind spirit and generous heart. Ruth's life was a testament to the power of love and faith, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire us all.

Heaven has gained a precious angel, and while we mourn her loss, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.

A funeral service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23rd at Bell Forestdale Chapel. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Bro. Daniel Browning will be officiating.

We love you, Ruth. Thank you for your enduring love and the beautiful legacy you leave behind. You will be deeply missed.
