Samuel Hugh Williams, Jr., 55 of Columbus, MS passed away on January 1, 2023, at his residence.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A graveside service will be Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Providence Methodist Church Cemetery, Maben, MS with Chaplain Trae Miller officiating.

Mr. Williams was born March 27, 1967, in Columbus, MS.  He was a member of Victory Tabernacle in Columbus, and loved fishing, hunting, crossword puzzles, and his dogs.  Mr. Williams especially enjoyed taking care of his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  He is preceded in death by his father – Samuel Hugh Williams, Sr.; mother – Christine Williams; and grandparents – Rueben Williams, Ida Mae Williams, Shields Herron, and EC Herron.

Mr. Williams is survived by his mother - Grace Cole Mathews; 4 sisters – Carol (Richard) Plunkett, Lisa (Timmy) Williams, Penny Hall, and Jamie (Markus) Owens; brother – Bubba (Lacey) Williams; nieces – Patricia Reeves, Jordann Yeatman, Denise Morton, Katie Smith, Gabriella Hall, and Reagan Williams; nephews – Richard Rast, II, Hugh Stone, Austin Williams, Andrew Bevill, and Hunter Williams; great nieces – Shelby Reeves, Ryleigh Hall, Blakelyn Pierce, Bella Grace Smith, Chevy Hall, Glorianne Reeves, and Kinsley Smith; great-nephews – Jaxson Reeves, Axell Stone, and Leo Stone.

Pallbearers will be Markus Owens, Wade Morris, Hugh Stone, Richard Rast, II, Hunter Williams and Richard Shepard.  Honorary pallbearers will be Centerline Band, Jamie Kaiser, Sandra Jones, Legacy Hospice, Timmy Morris, Samantha Chandler, and William Hogan.
