Sandra Faye "Sandy" Smith went to heaven early Sunday morning October 23, 2022, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS.   Sandy was born February 23, 1958, to Woodrow and Trannie McCool Smith in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Kenny Gardner and Kenny Reynolds, Jr. officiating.

Sandy attended Franklin Trainable School during its early years, 1968 and 1969, in Columbus with the loving teaching of Ms. Nelda Bailey.  She lived a wonderful home life with her loving and dedicated mother and dad for thirty-five years.  With the passing of her mother, Sandy moved to Ellisville State School in Ellisville, MS.    Sandy had many caring and loving staff members through the years there at Ellisville, who ensured her good health and welfare always.

Sandy is survived by brother Tony Wood Smith (Cheri) and sister Gail S. Reynolds (Kenneth) both of Columbus, MS. Nephews Brian Wood Smith, Columbus, niece Paige S. Cassel (Justin) Lake Forest CA, nephews Kenny Reynolds, Jr. (Andrea of Huntsville, AL and Colin Reynolds (Heather) of Columbus. She is also survived by great nephews, Corban and Everett Reynolds of Columbus and Wade Cassel of Lake Forest CA, and great nieces Brielle and Sienna Cassel of Lake Forest CA. Sandy enjoyed a wonderful family of caring cousins and her special 'other sister" Joyce Shaw (Billy) of Jemison, AL. She was indeed loved and shall be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

The family would like to extend special Thank You to each caregiver at Ellisville State School especially Magnolia Dorm and to the wonderful nursing staff, 3rd West at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, and to Dr. Michael Adrian Sims for the care and concern shown Sandy and her family.
