Sarah Katherine Batts, 69, of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, February 1,2014 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Monday, February 3, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 1 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Rev. Steve Brown officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Batts was born January 29, 1945 in Columbus, MS to the late Lester and Dorothy Estes Reed. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Columbus, MS where she married her husband on December 2, 1967. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Batts is preceded in death by her brother, Lester Reed, Jr. Mrs. Batts is survived by her husband - Charles "Chuck" Batts, Columbus, MS; sons - Dwayne (Christy) Batts, Ridgeland, MS and Rodney (Scottie) Batts, Cleveland, MS; grandchildren - Austin, Reed, Kaitlin, and Katherine Batts; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Frank Brown, Ted Dahlem, Rufus Mason, Larry Cantrell, Tony Montgomery, and Dick Rollins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Lance Busch, Nurses and Staff of ICU at Baptist Memorial Hospital - GT, Stephanie Whitmire and the Staff of Gentiva Home Health.
