Sarah Evlyn Wylie Kesler, beloved by many, died peacefully at 1:52 AM on June 24, 2022, in Saint Francis Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age of 85.  She was born to J.A. Wylie and Sarah Frederick Wylie on May 9, 1937, in Matthews, Missouri.

Evlyn graduated from Kewanee High School in Kewanee, Missouri, in 1955.  She married Donnie O. Kessler on October 22, 1955, in Hernando, Mississippi.  Evlyn and Donnie had one child, Kim (Kesler) Holt.  About 13 years ago, Donnie and Evlyn moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma, to live with their daughter and son-in-law, Kim & Dan Holt.

Evlyn went by many names – Wife, Mother, Grandma, Bank Teller, "Pink Lady", Ms. Sarah, Evlyn, or Grandma K, of which she loved them all.  Besides being a bank teller, she also volunteered as a "Pink Lady" at the hospital in Columbus, Mississippi.  She loved being a military/farmer's wife, mother, and grandmother.

Evlyn's hobbies included cross-stitch, reading, and spending time with all her kids.  She loved sending cards to folks or sitting on the porch watching birds, dogs, cars, and various other animals in the backyard.  She loved singing and serving others and always said "persevering" when asked how she was doing.

Evlyn is survived by her only daughter – Kim Holt (Dan); brothers and sisters – Edsel Wylie, Mary Simonds (George), and Bob Wylie (Judy); Grandchildren – Christina White (Fred), Josh Holt (Jasmine); Great-Grandchildren – Gabriel White, Mason White, Haley Holt, Jacob Holt, Liam White, and Dean Oliver Holt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Lowndes Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A graveside service will be held Friday, July 29, 2022, at 9:30 AM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Don Cole officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
