Sarah L. Lybrand Sarah L. Lybrand, 72 of Columbus, MS passed away, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in Northport, AL. Visitation for Mrs. Lybrand will be Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 6 – 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A graveside services will be Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2 PM in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Lybrand was born September 7, 1939 to the late Ellis Liphan and Linnie Cummins Murphree in Wedowee, AL. She moved to Columbus 45 years ago from Anniston, AL. Mrs. Lybrand worked at Mitchell, McNutt and Sams as a legal secretary. She enjoyed collecting antiques and reading. Mrs. Lybrand was of the Episcopal faith and loved her son. Tony. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lybrand is preceded in death by her husband, Coy Max Lybrand. Mrs. Lybrand is survived by her loving, devoted son and daughter in law – Tony and Kim Lybrand, Northport, AL, sister – Mary Jo Waites, Oxford, AL, brother – Chris Murphree, Anniston, AL, Grandchildren – Tony Lybrand, Jr and Mackenzie Lybrand, Step-grandchild – Jimmy Springfield and Step-Great-Grandchild – Marissa Springfield. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Springfield, Jeff Wilson, Charlie Wilson, Clay Shane, Michael Anderson and Garrett Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Christopher G. Jordan – DCH Oncology Associates of West Alabama, Employees of Mitchell McNutt & Sams. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the donor's choice.
