Sarah Mordecai Sarah Louise Mordecai, 88 of Columbus, MS passed away, Monday, February 6, 2012 at Windsor Place, Columbus, MS. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Mordecai will be held at a later date, Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Mordecai was born January 11, 1924 to the late Earl Snell & Ernestine Odom Kinder in Stuttgart, AR. She moved to Columbus in 1959 from Roswell, NM. Mrs. Mordecai was a homemaker and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mordecai is preceded in death by her husbands – James C. Vance, Paul Mordecai, sisters – Vera Leder, Lottie Kinder and son – Tim Vance. Mrs. Mordecai is survived by her daughters – Carolyn Smith, Columbus, MS, Lana Vance, Gulfport, MS, sons – Leslie (Brenda) Vance, Memphis, TN, Bill (Judy) Vance, Steens, MS, sisters – Helen Hall, Arkansas, Earlene Harris, Arkansas, Donna Cooper, Texas, brothers – Earl Kinder, Arkansas and Lynn Kinder, California, 7 Grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
