Scott Whitehead, age 56, of Columbus, MS passed away on September 23, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT.  The visitation will be Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  The memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home.

Mr. Whitehead was born on April 22, 1968 in Macon, MS to Roy and Jean Whitehead.  He worked at Valmet for 29 ½ years as a Maintenance Leadman.  Mr. Whitehead was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.  He was an avid fisherman, and was a member of the BFL (Major League Bass Club) and the Lowndes County Bass Club.

Mr. Whitehead is survived by his wife – Diane Whitehead; parents – Roy and Jean Whitehead; children – Lesley Vail and Lindsey Beard; stepchildren – Scott Files, Richard Files, and Sarah Moore; grandchildren – Andrew Files, Jerry Brewinton, Cheyenne Perkins, Kimberlyn Livingston, Koby Livingston, Kalyn Kent, Kason Kent, Kolton Files, Dustin Emery, Devin Emery, Trenton Jordon, Brianna Jordon, Mason Godney, Savannah Davis, Samantha Davis, Jax Vail, Elliana Vail, Brixton Vail, Jesse Beard, Beckett Beard, and Adalyn Montgomery; and great grandchildren – Bentley Emery, Serenity Emery, Kason Emery, Cooper Emery, Kashton Emery, Easton Perkins, and Link Godney.
