Shirlee Dean Harvey, 75 of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 1-2 PM at First Assembly of God, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM at First Assembly of God with Bro. Jesse Ray and Barbara Ray officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Harvey was born January 17, 1939 in West Jefferson, Alabama to the late George W. and Grady Tuggle Newman. She was a member of First Assembly of God, Columbus, MS and worked as a Librarian at Lowndes County Law Library. Mrs. Harvey lived in the area since 1965 and she was involved in numerous clubs and organizations throughout the years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Harvey is survived by her husband of 58 years-Jamie Harvey, Columbus, MS; daughter- Cindy (Bill) Sullivan, Columbus, MS; son-Jeffrey (Teresa) Harvey, Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Leah Sullivan, Dean Sullivan, Brittany Gardner, Jami Dodd, Taylor Harvey and great grandchildren- Lola Sullivan, Amelia Sullivan and Jaxson Dodd . Pallbearers will be Leah Sullivan, Dean Sullivan, Brittany Gardner, Jami Dodd, Taylor Harvey, Ryan Lee, Lance Dodd and Tyler Gardner. Honorary pallbearers will be Tuesday Mornings Bible Study Group.
