Shirley Dean Simpson, 70, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS.

A Visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2017, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church, Columbus, MS. The Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11:00 AM with Father Robert Dore officiating at Annunciation Catholic Church.

Ms. Simpson was born November 23, 1946, to the late Desire and Edna Elizabeth Warner Melancon in Greenville, MS. She moved to Columbus 21 years ago from Greenville. Ms. Simpson was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, Columbus, MS. She Simpson enjoyed reading and Investigation Discovery. But most of all she loved her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband-Donald Jack Simpson.

Ms. Simpson is survived by her daughter-Elizabeth Ann Simpson, Columbus, MS; sister-Delores Belhumeur, Columbus, MS; brothers-Albert (Merle) Melancon, Vicksburg, MS; Everett "Butch" Yarber, Weatherford, TX and Troy Johnson, Greenville, MS; 2 grandchildren-Norman Michael Bishop, Jr. and Chloe Elizabeth Bishop.
