Shirley Jeanette Knight Yerby

Shirley Jeanette Knight Yerby, age 80, went to see her Lord and Savior Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Columbus, Mississippi. She was a retired cosmetologist servicing Caledonia and the surrounding community for over thirty-five years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a devoted member of her church.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with the service at 12:00 p.m. with David K.Knight officiating. Burial will be held at Jumpertown Cemetery immediately following the service.

Shirley was born March 9, 1944, in White Haven, Tennessee. She was the sixth of thirteen children born to Minnie L. Melton Knight and Johnie W. Knight. She is survived by her husband, Sidney C. Yerby of Steens, MS; her sons, Daniel Rayfield (Monica) of Orange Beach, AL; Charles Rayfield (Donna) of Loganville, GA; Terry Rayfield of Newport, TN; Joe Rayfield (Holly) of Vernon, AL; her beloved grandchildren, Stephanie Hawkins, Stephen Rayfield, Brooke Hansen, Sabrina Lee, and Elizabeth Rayfield, Jennifer Parker, Josh Rayfield, Andrew Camp, Priscilla Stevens Melissa Brooks, Abby Rayfield, Tyler Rayfield and sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her father, Johnie W. Knight, her mother, Minnie L. Melton Knight, and her brothers, Charles Knight and Bob Knight, and her sister, Kathy Knight Day, and her infant great-grandchild Grayson Reich.

Pall bearers are Stephen Rayfield, Josh Rayfield, Tyler Rayfield, Matthew Knight, and Jason Knight.
