Steve Whitten, 67, of Ethelsville, Alabama, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Monday, July 8, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Memorial Service will be Monday, July 8, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, with Billy Ferguson officiating.

Steve was born on May 17, 1957, in Columbus, MS, to the late Clarence Whitten, Jr. and Bettye Jean Cook Whitten. Steve was a previous member of the Forest Volunteer Fire Department. He worked at Ceco Building Systems for 48 years. Steve was a member of Columbus Church of Christ and loved to travel with the Primetimers at the church. Steve was greatly loved by the children who sat in the pews around him in church.  He was an avid Alabama Fan. Steve loved to ride his tractor, do yard work, and had the ability to fix anything.

Steve is survived by his wife- Donna Allsup Whitten; "Children"- Austin Allsup, Ashley Allsup (Brayden) Smith, Allie Allsup, and Samuel Allsup; brothers- Mike ( Mary Lynn) Whitten, and Gary (Linda) Whitten; sisters- Clarice Herron, and Glenda (Larry) Burns; brothers-in-law- Bruce (Stephanie) Allsup, and Brice (Linda) Allsup; sister-in-law- Dena Allsup Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews.
